These are pictures from 2006 trips to Valdez Alaska aboard Wind Musher our 2000 26x. I thought Mac owners would like t see how another owner has enjoyed the flexabilty of the Mac 26x boats. This Ling Cod was caught on spinning tackle with a Super Slayer Glow Jig ( I make them) Catching this fish is like hooking into a alligator, as you get them to the surface they start a spinning that is hard to stop in the short space of the Mac Transome and landing by yourself.
My current interest is catching large fish on spinning tackle using the Super Slayer Jigs with bait strip. So far 80 lb Halibut is the biggest on the Jigs. |

This is a 145lb Halibut, filled the seat from one end to the other. I had to turn it on its side to get it through the transom.
I use a 410 snake charmer to kill it while it is still hooked, after making sure it is dead I use a 3/5 noylon shark hook and move it to the sail winch to bleed out. This fish at 16.00 lb for fillets at the local store was worth $1120.00 Cleans out about a 50% yield. |

I have my fish pointing dog with me at all times on the boat. That means 3 trips a day to the shore. I have found the Mac is much easy to back into a smooth shore line and jump in with just rubber boots to hold it about 6 inches off the bottom. I have used this maybe 100 times with only on miss hap with the transducer hitting a rock. One must pick protected areas with sandy shoreline to do this |

No pots of gold but one great picture of the mist that is present in Prince William Sound 40% of the time this year.
Not pics of sailing but Another way of using the Mac that other sail and even power boats cannot do for the money |

We do sail at times, not often, we mostly just enjoy the area, friends and fish. A Mac is a lot of fun for the money no matter what you like to do. The room in the cabin makes it a perfect boat for two persons to stay out for days and enjoy exploring the Sound. |
