Super Slayer Glow Jig
The Jig Construction:
The Super Slayer Glow Jig is hand made and poured one at a time in. You will see that each one is just a little different than the next. The lure is not without visual defects but nothing that would restrict the fish catching ability of the lure The jig is 2.25 OZ with at least a 5.5 nickel plated blade the swivel is rated at 85 lbs that connects the spinner blade. The head and one side of the spinner are painted with a long lasting glow in the dark powder paint. The skirt or twister tail or both are glow in the dark. The hook is an eagle claw 965 wire hook at 7/0 size.
How to fish the Super Slayer Glow Jig This jig is designed to be fished at depths of 100 to 125 ft deep. The 2.25 oz weight will get you to the bottom after casting and stripping line to be sure it is on the bottom. The lure should be left in sunlight for 1 hour before use to get a long lasting charge; a black light will charge the lure in minutes for a long lasting bright glow. A small hand held battery powered black light works great to get that quick charge.
To get that sure strike, add a 4 inch strip of salmon or cod belly as a trailer or use pork rind to add the taste and sent to keep the fish coming back until hooked. You will get repeated hits and create a feeding frenzy with all sizes and all kinds, salmon, halibut, rock fish, flounder, yellow eye and just about anything there that is in the area your fishing.
Don’t let the size of the lure fool you. This lure with a proper drag setting and spectra line has hauled in halibut up to 80 lbs.
Directions Using a spinning or bait casting reel with a stiff med heavy rod loaded with a spectra line of at least 40 lb test. Cast the lure as far as you can, strip line as the lure falls to ensure that it hits the bottom before retrieving. Tighten the line and lower your rod tip towards the water, lift the rod about 2 feet and allow the lure to rise and free fall back to the bottom, this will make the blade flash, the skirt to send out vibration and fish will hit it on the fall. Keeping your line tight at all time so you can feel the hit, as you feel the hit, set the hook with a sharp jerk. If you do not feel the fish is hooked let the lure settles back again to the bottom are repeat the process until you Hook the fish. The fish will continue to hit the lure until it is hook or the strip of bait is pulled lose.
Fishing this lure is a blast on light spinning equipment, you will get your limits when fished in areas like ledges, drop offs, and structure that will hold fish. Use the Super Slayer Glow Jig for schooling fish, just retrieve at a medium pace to get the spinner flashing and watch the results.
Warning!!!! Persons with heart condition or pace makers should not use this lure. |
